Youth + Children
We have many young adults and children at St James’ and we have a wide range of activities available.
On alternate Thursdays, we run Minecraft Church, an imaginative church service using tablets and laptops with lego, craft and much more for those not good at gaming
On the final Sunday of the month, we connect up with the young people of St James’ Lower Darwen for our Root youth group.
In the summer holidays, we run Holiday Space. Eight days spread over August for families with crafts, games and a free hot meal each day.
We run a community fun day in June with a free community BBQ, bouncy castles and face painting.
Our Church
For hundreds of years St James’ has been central and sustaining for the people of Over Darwen. Thank to our partners at the National Lottery Heritage Fund we are exploring our heritage in depth at the moment as we prepare for extensive renovations. It is an exciting time and our church community is rising to the challenge to be even more of a blessing to Over Darwen.
